Tunze Voltage Chips

Wiskey

Hello!

When I moved I was very careful to put the little voltage chips somewhere very safe so that I didn't loose them.

I'm sure they are still perfectly safe,.. wherever that spot was :(

I'm using the 12V one for my 6105 now, where can I go to buy an 18V or 24V one? I'm finding I need more flow as my colonies get larger.

Thank you!

So are you Irish Wiskey, or American Bourbon Whiskey? :)

They are available on Tunze.com, about $2 each, parts 6105.242 and 6105.243.

Canadian Whiskey actually! Though I live in the US now.

Awesome! Thank you. I honestly didn't even think to check there. I just figured Tunze would only sell to retailers.

I actually have a related question.

I have a Tunze 6105 and a Tunze 6040 both connected to my Apex controller through a Tunze adapter cable. The 6105 is the older style with no controller, the 6040 has a controller set to external control.

When I unplug power from the 6040's controller the pump continues to run. I'm assuming that it gets power through the cable plugged into the APEX from the 6105.

If I put the 18V chip in, will it overdrive and burn out the 6040?

Yes, the 6040 is a 12V pump. It continues to work though because of the 10V signal from the Apex, the pump needs so little power it can run from the signal voltage, their is no danger from the controller except to overloading the controller itself. The danger would be if you directly connected 18V power to the pump.

Oooh! I gotcha. It's running off the 0-10V signal from the APEX not actually bleeding power from one pump to the other.

Very cool! I will order the chips.

Thanks again! You've been awesome!
