Hi guys, I need some help and avice from you...
I'm about to change my actual tank outlet (DIY outlet using a plasic box + a durso standpipe) and I'm interested in the Tunze Wall Overflow item.

I'd like to know if anyone has direct experience with this stuff, and in particular:
- if this outlet is noisy or not (for example compared with xaqua in-out outlet);
- is it necessary to buy the Tunze pipe accessory - in order to reduce the noise - or may I use another kind of similar pipe?

Any help will be appreciated
;)
Thanks in advance

Leonardo

I have not seen a xaqua in person so I cannot make that comparison.

It is a very quiet overflow, however it handles a very low flow rate, 396 gph max.

The lowest noise is achieved with our 1075/2 hose, this is for a few reasons, it is oversized so air has plenty of room to escape, the corrugations spiral the water on the outer wall and let it breathe, placing two bends in the hose prevents any burping and slows the flow and reduces splash. You can use any hose or pipe you like but it is set up for metric 40mm connections.

Thanks for you prompt reply.
My tank is 200 lt clean (excluding the live rocks and the sand bed).
I think it's ok, don't you?
