tunze wave box in L shaped tank and issue

I dont know where my last thread went in Tunze's forum but we were wondering if a wavebox would work in a L shaped tanka few months back.

Well I ante'd up and bought one.

It came in today and soon as I fired it up in the tank...the impeller snapped in half.

Anyone know why this happened? or How?

I also want to find some magnets for this...any suggestions?

Hello, if your tank thickness is 1/2" use the magnet holder 6080. If thicker use 6200.15 magnet holder.

Did you buy the wavebox brand new or used? Contact the store or online store where you purchase the tunze wavebox and have them send you replacement or Roger can get it to you on Wed... Tunze closed on Mon and Tues...

the tank is 1/2" acrylic

I am going to wait for a response from Roger about the impeller before going anywhere else about it and I think I will purchase the magnets from him as well if he ships me a new impeller while I am at it.

I have heard that these waveboxes have had problems with impellers snapping.

It seems that they cant handle the torque that the motor puts out and snap but this is my first wavebox and first experience with a Tunze product

This typically would not be covered under warranty. Once used if a pump is stored without thorough cleaning the drive unit can break due to lime, algae, hardened salt and foreign objects in the pump. It must be thoroughly cleaned before storage to avoid this. If you want to send me the pump and drive unit I will review it, if it is less than 2 years old and I can clearly conclude it is our fault, I will replace the drive unit but for a new style 6200.70 drive unit to fail outside of an impact or being seized or dropped is extremely rare. You can order the 6200.70 on our website or from one of our dealers. If you want to send it in our address is:

Roger,

I really would like to keep the pump and get a new impeller since I havent had but a whole 2 seconds to use this item. The seller stated that the unit was only 6 months old when I purchased it, but I can ship it to you as long as we can have a fairly easy turn around time.

I sent you a email as well.

Thanks
