Tunze wavebox on 125 AGA

I have a 125 AGA reef ready(72" L x 18" W x 20" H)(corner overflows, so I cannot mount it on the back) tank with a penninsula style aquascape. Unfortunately, I only have about an inch of clearance from the water line to the top of the tank trim. I want to mount the wavebox on the right side of the tank near the front of the tank(facing the 72" way) where it will be minimally obstructed.

Can I work it so that there is only about a .05 to .75 inch wave?

I will use it in conjuntion with my dual returns and either my tunze 6100 on a single controller or a maxi mod. If the wave is too high, can I mount the pump aimed at the box to reduce the wave?

Would a nano wave box work better?

Thanks

Hello, you don't have to mount the pump pointing direct at the outlet of your tunze wavebox because all the wave will be disturb. Just dial the controller down a bit and you will be fine.

Sounds good. I am just worried that it may splash out of the tank. I would prefer that the wave be .05 inch max. I want the wave to be slower than the videos on youtube, of course those videos are usually on 48" tanks.

Thanks

When will the nano wavebox be available?

Would it still work on a 125?

I plan on doing a new tank in the future...like a 30x30x18 or a 36x24x18.

I would rather not spend twice.

The nano wave box will work for your future tank but i am not sure about the 6f tank that you have. Roger will have better answer for you...

You can always turn the wave down a bit with the controller....

From memory ETA is December

The Nano Wavebox will be ready sometime between Oct-Dec. I don't think it will work for the large tank. The wave frequency is determined by the tank, the smaller the tank the faster the wave. While you do adjust the frequency, only one frequency will produce a wave, the resonance frequency, and this is determined by the tank size. Once the frequency is set you can lower the power of the pump to reduce the waveheight but I would not see a wavebox as a worthwhile investment if the wave height is less than 3/4", it won't accomplish enough movement to justify the expense.

That being said, do you think that I will have enough clearance in my tank to have a .75 inch wave and not have any splashing out. Have you seen the wavebox in use on a 125 AGA corner overflow tank(pre mega flow)?

I have not, but I have seen it in use on an Oceanic 180 with corner overflows and it works and the wave is just about 3/4"-1" It does almost spill over.
