Tunze's using an Aquacontroller?

I am thinking of using Tunzes in my new setup, but already have an Aquacontroller and don't really want to pop the $$ for the multicontroller. Can this be done, I just won't have a speed control, correct?

It could be done if you use the 6000 or 6100, it is pretty far from ideal though as their is a risk animals will get in the pump when it is off since you will defeat fishcare function. It is definitely harder on the pump too, the manual specifies that the warranty is void on any non Tunze controller with the exception of a basic light timer running one hour intervals.
