Turbelle 4002's need repairs

I have (2) Turbelle 4002s which need repairs. Is there anyone qualified in the Manhattan Ny area? I tryed the kit from Marine Depot with no success, (loud squeal). If not, I'll need the Texas address (again), and price for both? I was suposed to send one out last year, but got lazy when I purchased the new unit, (now I have no main or backup). Is it odd that I'm blowing through one of these units a year? What is the normal life expectency?

Thanks for any help,

Michael

If you are going through them so fast you have them submerged too deep. The impeller housing should only be about 3/4" under water. When too deep salt gets inside and as it hardens it cuts through the pinion and then salt spray eats up the bearings. The cost varies with the amount of damage. Labor is $20 per then whatever parts you need. Assuming you need the most common repairs that is a bearing set at about $19 and a repair kit at about $13. It could be more or less. The bearings are permanently lubricated (do not oil them or you will ruin them) they should last 2-3 years between overhalls.

That sounds great, I'll need the address and best way to ship them? Also best payment method.

What is the usual turn-around-time on repairs? I'm going to try to run my system with some makeshift powerheads, if it's not too long, so I don't have to purchase an additional unit.

The way I have my system setup, the impeller housing is more like 1.5" under water. I'll modify this for the future.

Thanks for all your help,
Michael

It takes me only a day maybe 2, the 4002's take longer because they are more difficult to do than the submersible pumps. Just inlcude your contact info and I will call you with a total, we can do COD, Mastercard or Visa.
