Turbelle alarm ... the meaning is?

Hi Roger -

Last friday morning I got a panicked call from my wife who described a `nasty alarm sound' going off from my tank.

She eliminated the possibilities + found that it was my turbelle/controllable. So she left it unplugged.

Later in the day, replugging it in set off the alarm again.

So I cleaned it ... now no alarm.

What's the alarm for, is it still a concern?
Was it stuck? [seemed to be] ... or was this a larger concern?

The alarm just means the pump was stuck and needed to be cleaned. Be sure that you cleaned the upper bearing, this is a track at the bottom of the hole that the magnet spins on and the magnet being stuck to it is the number one cause of an alarm. Often times people overlook this and the alarm goes off again in very short order.
