Turbelle Stream

I am building a smaller sized 30" x 20" x 20" 50 gal tank 50 gallon tank for seahorses and corals and live rock, would like to have a moderate amount of current in the tank. Would any of the Turbelle streams that you manuf fit the bill ? I see that the smallest that you manuf has an output of 1,585 us gal per hour, that would seem kinda high for the seahorse tank that I am building. Do you make a lower output version ? or would this be ok ? if not what would you recommend ? Thanks..........

Streams aren't a good choice for seahorses and the problem is with a lower flow the point is lost. The Stream flow has such a weak strength at lower flow rates it would be worthless. I would suggest a 1600/2 Turbelle and possibly even adding a filter to the intake like filter 800 or Pot Filter 820. This way the Seahorses would be absolutely safe. Great animals but a little on the slow side and seemingly mentally slow too. Only animal I have ever owned that let a starfish eat it alive from the tail up! So you can never be too cautious. The 1600/2 has a 1" outlet and so for the 427 gph flow rate you would have a proportionnally wide and gentle flow. If you wanted to get fancy TF02 a 7200/2 and single controller would be nice. I would recommend the same filter to shield the intake.

Rodger, after looking again at the site, what about 2x the 600/2 or 2x the 1000/2 or 2 x the 800/2 so as to has a cross current app. in the tank ? would this be a good idea or a bad idea with the seahorses and any live coral that I would put in there ? I am also hoping to put in there live rock, clams, soft coral, possible montiopora but really need the advice...... better to have the one power head or two ? also, can these be mounted to the back of an acrylic tank ?
