I have had a nice size (about 10 inch) turbinaria coral for about 6 months. when i got it it was 1/2 dead, but in that time is has grown a lot (about 1/4 dead now). all of a sudden, it started receding and showing white skeleton. Other corals and inverts in the same water (but not lighting) are all doing fine (gigas clam, bubble coral, frogspawn, hammer, anemones sun coral). the only only coral which looks unhappy is a large toadstool leather. I moved the turbinaria to the other tank with much much more light, do you think thats the problem?
parameters are normal, low/no nitrates (under 20 always), no nitrites or ammonia, ph around 8.4, alk around 9-10 and calcium around 450. temp in the high 70's (around 76-78) and salinity at 1.025-28.
any ideas?
