Turbo Snail ooozing

just put a turbo snail in the tank and he oozed a milky substance for a good 1/2 hour after acclimation. anyone know what this is. is the snail dying or is it a reprodutive thing.

Ive never seen my tubo snails do this, but yeah its probably spawning. Its really amusing when all the snails in the tank start doing it then the clams join in!

My 5 year old asked me one day..Dad, why are your snails on smoking?

yup its a reproductive thing, expect to see some lil snails over the coming weeks.

thats a pretty bold statement. Both times my snails have ooozed white stuff into the tank, looking like they were on fire, I had baby snails within the following weeks.

Eh.. dont let it get to you. Some people might just be having a bad day. Other times, things come across way more harsh than you meant them to when you are typing it out.

I think most people around here are usually helpful and kind.

When in doubt with a snail..sniff it. You'll KNOW if it is dead, trust me.

That is exactly what mine did, now I see little baby trochus all over the place

Hmm make sure they dont get on your magnet cleaner or a big scratch will show up.. Seen it happen to someone

well, i certainly hope to see some baby snails. the ooze looked just like scottfarcuz' picture.

but now i think the snail's dead (he's not moving and doesn't smell all that great) so I put him in the fuge.

is the best hobby, or what?
