twice or once per month for water change

In the wild corals don't even sit in the same water for 5 seconds, they're constantly being washed with new water. The thought of my corals sitting in the same water for any length of time makes me cringe. As long as the new water is the same temp and salinty as the tank there is no reason it should be stressful, that's crazy talk.

4 times a month....or weekly wc's however you want to put it.....i do about 20% weekly-----55g tank and 30g sump/fuge.......but with live rock(i have alot) the water volume is reduced drastically so a 12g change comes to about 20% give or take.......this along with the every 2 day turkey basting the rocks and substrate to get deitrus in suspension

I do about 25 gallons every week-1.5 weeks. Usally let the water mix and forget about it for a couple days (hence the variation).. I'd like to slow down to every 2 week or once a month.. but.. for some reason my tank is in a very senstive state right now, so it's best for me to keep up w/it... but there is a guy who lives down the road, with a flourshin tank with 3-4 times the bioload.. and hasn't changed his water in 9 months.. so i'm at a loss.

I change 25 gallon twice a week to vacuum detrius. Works out to 200 gallon month. It's work, but worth it.....

I believe water changes in themselves can be just as much turmoil as anything else, becaue lets face it, I doubt most take the time to prep the water days in advance and "perfectly" match it. If you are, congratulations keep up the good work, I think you are the minority.

Wow, I really am in the minority then.

13% every week. I prep the water the night before I do a water change. I do match the new water to my main tank as far as SG, Ca, Mg and temp.

It takes me about 15 minutes to make the water the night before and about 45 minutes to do the full water changes with siphoning out detritus. To me that doesn't seem like a lot of work.

I change 30 gallons once a month on my system which is about 100 gallons total water volume. I maybe able to go longer but I figure it is better for the tank and everything looks so much nicer after the water change or at least I think it does. Plus it give me a chance to remove detrious and stuff like that out of the tank.

I start my water saturday am.. I aerate the fresh water 12 hours then add my salt. i mix ans aerate overnight and test the parameters in the morning... I then let age some more and do my change about 3 pm. yes.. Im anal. but the corals look and groe great!
