Twitching Clownfish

I have 2 Ocellaris Anemonefish (I purchased a mated pair). One of them stays in my anemone & bites the other one. While being bitten, the other one begins to twitch & shake. What does this mean? Is this some kind of mating ritual?

Hi there. we're proud new owners of a pair of clowns too. from what we've read, its a form of submissive behavior by the male. all should be well as the female is accepting him..best of luck!

you can read all about pairing clownfish in the Pairing FAQ.

You can find it in the Clownfish and Anemone FAQ thread at the top of this forum.
