Two pairs on one tank

Is it possible for two pairs of clowns to be in one 120 gallon tank. I was given a mated pair of maroon clowns and had a pair of false percula. Both have a anemone at opposite ends of the tank. Will they get along?

For a little while. Once one starts to spawn, the other are toast. Your experience may vary, but this is a very typical outcome.

only one way to keep two pairs in one tank that I know of....

this is how I do it.....

I had a Darwin female jump the divider on a system like posted above, and before she leveled out had the other smaller female by the peck fin thrashing her and killed her in the time it took me to get a net.

I speak form experience, I have been keeping clowns since 1982. I have 6 pairs now, and all in separate systems, I gave up on dividers after my Dawin incident.

If the Maroons mean that much to you, don't do it. It is not worth the life of one of the fish.

Good luck.

I had a similar question about Clarkii's although I suspect that one pair is enough. My pair have spawned a couple of times and killed a pair of firefish I introduced a few months back. Will I ever be able to put any new fish in my tank without worrying about how the Clarkii's will react?

Agree on the original question. No way I would attempt it, maroons have a reputation of being hard enough just to pair. Much less a paired couple put in with any other clowns. Even if they coexist initially, things can change in an instant at any point.

I called my pair the tyrannical duo. They picked on a Queen Trigger! They are best left to a 20/30 gallon tank to live a happy neighbor free zone!

Yeah, these two are pretty rough around the edges. I am moving the tank and I wondered if I could introduce a new fish when I reestablish the tank, but this surly couple might not care!

Well could not stand the chance of losing a pair. Moved the perc's today will give them away with a thirty gallon tank. Will keep the maroons in the 120 gallon hope they get along with every one else. The maroons are my wife's favorites. Spent all day catching the perc's but they will live on. Thanks for all the input.
