Two spot bristletooth tang

For my last two tank additions I've decided to go with two bristle tooth tangs. This one is almost through with TT. He's a little fellow, about 2.5"

Hoping to add a C. flavicauda for the last addition. Plan is to get both through TT and prazipro in QT and add them to the DT at the same time. Is that necessary (tank size 72x24) or can I add them as they complete the QT process?

Where are you going to find a flavicuada? I saw one on divers den a couple months ago and a couple on NYA but haven't seen any since. I'd be careful adding 2 bristletooth tangs together especially at different times.

At such a small size it should be fine to add them separately, but definitely use an acclimation box.

@Ross they've been on the market a bit lately. I believe BZA has some now.

Actually have one on the way.

Thanks for the input. I ran it by Snorvich and he liked the idea better than a bristletooth and a different genus (acanthurus/zebrasoma). Now I don't know what to do. I may see if a friend wants the 2 spot.

What size did you get? If it was me I would try to qt them and introduce them at the same time

The whitetail is a little larger. It arrives tomorrow. My plan is to put it in one of my QT tanks as a holding tank till the first one finishes TT on Sun. Then I'll transfer the 2 spot to my larger QT and start TT with the whitetail. When TT is complete put them in the same QT for Prazipro and observation. Would that work?

Uh oh. The flavicauda arrived and he is huge (not the 3-3.5" on the web site). I don't know if it will be a good idea to QT these together due to the size difference. Will post some pics after he settles down. Very nervous right now.

If the flavicauda is larger and behind the two spot in the qt schedule, it would be better to add the latter to the DT first and the flavicauda when he is out of qt. I've kept multiple bristletooth tangs together without issues, but I wouldn't qt them together without a divider. The lack of space is just asking for trouble.

That's what I'm thinking. The little guy will be no threat to the larger flavicauda. Since he will complete QT a good 2 weeks before the flavi I'm thinking add him first and let him get established before adding the much larger tang.
