Two Vortechs - one on each end?

For tanks in the 4 ft. to 6 ft. in length range is it best to put one pump on each end of the tank pointing towards each other? Or is it better to put both on the same end (just one end) of the tank running simultaneously together. And would this be the same running in pulse mode or reef crest mode?

for tanks 4' and longer the best configuration is one pump on each end. If you want a wave put the master in pulse mode and the slave in anti-sync mode. If you don't care about a wave have one pump in pulse mode and the other in reef-crest random.

Thanks. That's how I currently have my pumps configured. But I can't seem to make a good wave unless I have the pulse set at very quick intervals. Is there a recommendation for the speed interval between on/off on the pulse setting?

Phishlet,

Because we're talking 10ths of a second or less, it's very hard to make a recommendation. You may not actually see a surface wave on some tanks, however you can usually hit the resonant frequency without a strong surface wave which will be visible through the corals swaying back and forth.
