I have had this powder blue in my tank for two years now. Ever since day one he has been skinney. He is a great fish that has over come ick and other hardier fish that did not make it. So I know he is strong. All my other fish are nice and fat, but he remains the same. He is a picky eater and will only eat mysis shrimp and nori. I keep a nori strip on a clip everyday. I can only asoom he has internal parasites. What can I feed that will kill internal parasites?

you'd be surprised at the amount of food a healthy tang will eat, my best guess would be you're just not feeding it enough. the nori on the clip isn't all that nutritional, pick up the mysis feedings as well as other meaty foods. all my tangs eat like pigs, they are fed 3-4 times per day on top of 24/7 nori sheets, I've yet to find anything they didn't eat. Bananas and Oranges being a favorite of theirs.

Thanks for trying to help me, poobear35. I'm not surprized that many people are trying to help. Everytime I post I hardly get any feedback. I've been in this hobby for along time and do know lots about it. But when I can't figure out my own problems, I always try to seek other opinions here on reef central.

Back to the tang. I,ve been feeding heavey on mysis to where the powder blue and all my other fish stop eating it. Then I put up the nori on a clip and all of them start chewing on it. The powder blue then stops eating and has a fat belley, but you can see his spinal cord and his face is skinney.

Like I said I think he has internal parasites. If anyone has any other thoughts to help me get my tang healthey, please help.

Jungle brand makes an anti-parasite food. Not sure how safe it is to use in a reef. I didn't notice any problems though. Bad part is it must taste horrible, because non on my fish really wanted to eat it. A friend used garlic xtreme, and his fish ate it.
