Ok im struggling installing this thing. I bought the typhoon 5 stage reefkeeper system. I also bought the fast flush, psi gauge,a dual electronic tds meter to hook up to it as well.I cant figure out where to plug in what by looking at the pics they sent me.

Does anyone have this unit?can you post some pics of the hook ups on your typhoon III? The instructions do not go into specifics as in where to install the accessories to the unit.

Wow, when I got mine everything was pre-assembled and ready to go (even had little labels for each hose). If you don't get any help I'll try and post some pics tomorrow evening of the connections on mine, maybe that will help you out.

well i bought the 5 stage instead of the typhoon III because i allready had a tds meter from a previous ro/di i had.so i just bought the fast flush and the psi along with the 5 stage.

The main thing i cant figure out is how to hook up the fast flush to the unit. The directions are not real clear and pics would be great.

The flush uniy looks like it came with an drain restrictor on it. (the thing with the greenish writing on it.

so just take the the one on the RO unit (the one connected to the black hose) off and then just install one end of the flush unit on to the black hose. It has the flow of the water (arrow) make sure the arrow is going out of the unit...This is the waste line, so it should go to some sort of drain.

Hope that make sense.

Thats it? Then how would it flush the membrane? You turn the valve and it bypasses the restrictor or something? seems like the fast flush would need to be before the membrane?Am i making this harder then it is?
The Tds meter goes before the inlet and after the output right?
The psi gauge goes before the tds meter on the inlet?

Ohh ok so the restrictor is after the membrane, but it is still affecting the flow thru the membrane? Then when you open the valve it eliminates any and all restriction and lets the water flow straight thru.Ohh ok i get it.
The Di is the 5th and final stage,so this unit is getting rid of the waste water after stage 4 (the membrane),so when i use the fast flush am i deleting the 5th stage all together or will it still be producing good water?Do i need to shut off the valve on the output before i use the fast flush?

Sorry for all these questions im just trying to grasp the whole concept here.My last unit was put together allready all i had to do is hook up the supply and the drain.

Correct on the restrictor. When you flush 100% of the water goes to waste. I try to flush my membrane for about 1 minute or so after every use. I forgot about half the time though. To be honest I am not sure when the water gets wasted. No need to shut off the valve on the output all the water will go out the waste line because it will be the easiest path.

Just an FYI I hooked my TDS meter up post membrane (pre DI) and post DI. So that way I can tell what the TDS is pre and post DI. I do this because I really do not care what the TDS in of the water going into the unit is as long as it is 0 coming out.

I also put in a "T" pre DI, one line goes the waste the other to DI. I do this because when I first turn on the unit the TDS is very high and I don't want to waste the DI resin. When the TDS in normal RO range I turn the valve and start making water.
