Tyree BGM vs WWC BGM

here is the mother colony shot. I agree, the tyree picture is bad.

bubblegummonster2.jpg

the main difference I can see is that the BGM gets a bunch of blue or turquoise colors in the undertones. They are similar, however.

If the pumpkin patch is holding strong at $225, I would expect the BGM to be worth more than that.....it is a MUCH prettier coral IMO

that is the colony that tyree's piece came from....as well as mine, and jose's.......and everyone else for that matter.

WWC named the coral "bubblegum monster", tyree saw something special in the coral, and decided it was worth holding on to and releasing as a limited edition, so now it is referred to as the tyree bubblegum monster. Whether you got the coral from tyree or WWC, it's still the same coral.

My pumpkin patch came from that side of the lineage. Does that mean it isn't a miami hurricane chalice?

I have the BGM LE,MH LE,ME,EME and all are unique in there own way from growth pattern, color, tecture and to say one looks like the other not in my tank. All can be fragg and i can still tell the diffrence. That is why i have them all and iam compulsive lol.Its funny because when i first saw the pix of the BGM LE i had to have it,so i contacted Victor and i told him i had to have it.At that time i knew and i told Victor that it would be a Le.

Darrell has seen my corals first hand so he knows.:)

This hobby has only brought me joy and i have met and made new friends I REALLY LOVE THIS HOBBY!:)

. I was pretty surprised to see that melting pot go for so much. I have not seen much of it since...anyone got a picture of it recently???

I don't have a photo of it, but it's not yet colored up for me yet either. It had a chilly trip here from NY and I had it under some not so great lighting at first. It's now under a Hamilton 14K and the colors are in the dark pink scales. I believe it had the colors in the photo's from T-5's, so I plan on cutting the piece in half and moving part of it into another system when it's set-up that will have some T-5 lighting to see how the color transforms. When it's moved, I'll have a better chance of photographing it! FYI - I was not the winner of the ebay auction piece at that higher price!

Also, can someone please PM me to tell me where to find the "Tyree Website" that's being mentioned?

Personally I was not impressed much by the EME. In my opinion, the Mummy eye and BGM looks the best.

Put it this way, I had an opportunity to purchased the EME at a very good price and I passed on it.

But everyone likes different things, so someone else may think the EME looks the best. Or maybe I saw a piece that didn't do it any justice.

The real test would be to post all 3 next to each other and see how many people can identify each one correctly. :)

Sara...I was the one who won the auction on ebay for the melting pot. So far i can say i am not impressed for what i paid. The frag was well healed when i got itand i have had it for awhile now. It is a brownish background with some greenish and yellowish starting to show. Those colors only started to show when i moved it out closer to a 250 watt 20k. Hopefully it gets better with time.

I received mine November 13th. It was under a 250W SE 6500K bulb until February 1st. I was going for growth rather than color and I was sick of seeing various shades of poo brown in all my frags! I changed out to the 14K on February 1st and it's developing the pink variation colors now. It's in my frag tank now, but I could move it upstairs to get a photo I guess. ktar ran T-5's and I guess you need those to get those colors. Like I said, I'll try that next as I have not lost hope for it yet!

I also have the melted pot from Ktar. I have it under 12K Reeflux 250"s. It's starting to color up nicely for me.

I have tried to get my Melting Pot to color up for the past 5-6 months and has have no luck so far. When it color up it was under a very cheap light fixture. It was under 24" nova extreme T5 fixture with 2 10k and 2 blue attinic supplement. I have 2 different frag under to different lighting rite now and still no color. I have it under 2 175watt 14k hamilton with pc supplement and it midway in the tank and it starting to get some color but not the same as before. I have the mother colony under 20k 175watt getting a little color but not impress still. I have a new Tek fixture i will be putting up tonite and i will update if it start to color up again. Sara i hope your frag will color up for you.
