Well it appears that the original Leng Sy was lost. I have seen no substantial evidence that anyone kept it going for more then a year. So in this case the linneage issue is a moot point. Now if someone is falsely claiming to have the correct linneage when they dont, that is another issue and one that should be dealt with, since there are collectors out there who have been paying $200 or more for the 'real Leng Sy'. I have sold no such corals no have ever claimed to have had the 'real Leng Sy', since 1996. It may turn out that the linneage can be established, but it has not been established as of yet IMHO. If you are not into the linneage issue, no big deal. There are however reef collectors who are.
sberman,
This is what Steve has concluded at this point. If he is correct then there are no known Leng Sy corals that have been traced directly from the original colony.
I don't know if you are referring to Dustin's or mine but as far as mine it produces vefy pronouced ridges. Here is a picture of ridges that are around 2 inches, which I would guess from the pictures of the Leng Sy are as big and maybe bigger. The polyps on mine are green as well. Under certain lights they will turn more a white color. This picture is a bit faded so does not show the green color in the polyps as much.
It cups as well. You can see the picture above and on the prior page (Top) even though that one is a small frag, it is starting to show the cup forming.
