Tyree Purple Monster Placement

I picked up a frag of purple monster a few weeks ago. I was wondering where everyone has theirs? I was thinking mid tank. My tank is 48x24x24 with Ati 8 bulb sunpower all sps. If you have some par readings also. Thanks. Jeremy

I had mine up near an mp60 and in high light. But remember start low and gradually move it up over the course of a month or two.

Agreed. Mine is getting 600 par currently under a 400w halide and the color has become very intense.

Ok. I think the final placement will be pretty close to am mp40 and high up. Around 450 par. Thanks for advice and pic.

I have mine 10"+- below waterline, in the shadow under a 300DD cross brace. It's in a pretty high flow area in my tank. seems to like it there

In my last tank I had mine high up in an area with a good amount of flow. It was under a 400W Radium + T5s.

^^ the best colony I've seen on the boards for sure, just look it up. I had a large piece from Scott in Bristol and lost it due to an Alk/Po4 swing. Just kills me.

It's just not that common anymore. In NY, every collector used to have this piece a 5-10 years back. When I was looking for a frag last year, I posed a WTB thread on several forums and never got a response. Eventually, my buddy got me one from copps.

Wow, definitely some great success in this thread! What is the general opinion on the frags listed on the DFS Divers Den? I pulled the trigger on a really well encrusted frag a little over a month ago. Seems to be doing well so far, but I'd love to hear from the more experienced members. Definitely following this thread!
