Uh oh, ran out of super glue gel...

So I'm just started into fragging for tomorrow, and what happens, I run out of super glue gel!!! It's already 10pm. What stores carry gel that's open this late? Does safeway have it?

Rite Aid here in Sac carries the sweet Loctite gel. I found that they place it in the Office Supplies and Household hardware aisles

They had Krazy Glue. I bought two tubes, will it work? It says contains ethyl cyanoacrylate... I believe that is either the GOOD stuff for tanks, or BAD?

ZOMG krazy glue sucks my socks so bad. it's totally liquidy, doesn't hold anything =( I used two entire tubes (that's like $6 right there) to glue down a couple frags.

BOO! I had like a thousand Idaho Grape accidental frags today from dropping a huge rock of it onto another rock... so sad, that was like a show piece sized one being at least 6" across already... now it's like a dozen little pieces.

Tonight's fragging was not the funnest =(

haha not your fault at all norman. =) it still worked out... after it touches water it seems to expand, I'm guessing it's trying to release air or something =/ the frags are fine, just some glued fingers that's all.

I love the GEL.
I use the gray LocTite GEL bottle, with the blue squeeze sides.

Incredible stuff, it's all I buy now.

That stuff is BY FAR the best stuff I have used.

Yeah use the generic ACE brand Super Glue Gel. Works so well for $1. Gets hard to squeeze at the end, but I feel I get more out of that tube than out of the grey Loctite GEL bottles.

I finish the locktite by squeezing them with a pair of slip-joint pliers and unscrewing the top.

I got a tube of IC Glue Gel at the BAR meeting yesterday and tried it out, it works well like Super Glue Gel, but it smells much stronger and IMO takes a tad longer to harden. The one I get from ACE I can stand thin birdsnests on after a couple seconds and then once it gets in the water holds tight.

The only problem I have with the loctite is if the tip get clogged.
If it's a clean tip then it works awesome!
Yeah it's a bit spendy though..

I used to use the contractor pack of SG Gel at home depot. You get like 16 tubes for like 8 bucks.
But each tube is basically one time use only. They never reseal very well.

I like the IC stuff but it never reseals very well either.
When you have to glue just one frag every few days it sucks when your almost brand new thing of IC dries up before you even got to use half of it.

I still like the ones I can get at the 99cent markerts... you get 6 small tubes of Superglue gel made with cyanocrylate. its thick and bonds fast.
