Ultimate Clown System.

yeah I went and read a little further back, also didnt see that it was a cube right away... it was late all I saw was 38xsomethingx18

sorry to get your hopes up..

what about back to front coverage? won't it only light the part of the tank it is over?

Maybe you can build a ridge across the middle and hang the light on one side for SPS/anemone etc. and put softies and LPS on the less well lit side....

I thought it would cover the whole tank, not only areas of it...hmmm, back to the drawing board then.

..I dont like LPS...and i really dont want any type of canopy/ridge across type of things.. Even if i invest in a mega expensive Geiseman pendant, its gonna be the same thing, so..what to do..what to do..

maybe just a couple of stealth luminarc pendants built into a shallow hanging canopy with some 14k lamps in them...

4 of them would fit over your tank and you would have a TON of light...

not sure if they make them in anything lower wattage than a 250... but even then 2 of them would most likely cover your tank plenty... and they are pretty small so you could build a really small hanging canopy...

yeah I hear you... it would just be tough to get a pendant that would cover 38x38 effectively..

I hung my canopy that I made and it came out very clean...

One 1000W MH if you want high light and one 400 W MH if you want lower light. Either that or you can put 2 or 3 250 W MH near the center and hang it higher up. Either way, you need to have your light fixture higher up than usual.
38 inches square, is dificult to light because it is too short for two bulbs but too long for one bulb for each side. The only choice you have, IMO, is to put the light higher to cover a 38X38 instead of the usuall 24X24 for each bulb.

with luminarc stealths he should be able to get the coverage with 2 but he wants an all in one pendant....
