ultimate skimmer?

Is this the ultimate skimmer or would this take forever to make and still not work? A D.I.Y. deltec clone modified to include a beckett injector and a mazzie injector with a needlewheel recirc pump. My other question is there even such thing as a needlewheel recirculating pump? Also how much do you think it would cost to make:mixed:

No, the ultimate skimmer would be about the size of my cell phone, skim at least a 5,000 gallon tank, use less than 2 watts, be dead silent, release no microbubbles, never overflow, produce consistent espresso, keep my ORP at around 400 regardless of what is dying in my tank, and cost less than $1.

Any NW pump can be made to recirculate, it is just a matter of plumbing. If you were seriously going to pursue this project, I would budget at least $500 depending on size and be ready for the costs to escalate to $1000 before it is all said and done.

One question: why bother with both a beckett and a mazzie?

I think if you did PVC or a 5 gallon water bottle you would not have the ultimate skimmer. I don't think that will drop the costs as much as you think though. 30" of 8" acrylic tube is only $94.53 here which isn't too bad at all. How big are you planning on making the skimmer body?
