Believe it or not, this happened a few months ago in another store in CT. Person just reached in and took out the blue zoas. Then walked out. It was also in a shallow tank (tub like system). It's too bad people are like that.

I say we each have a right to know if its a member of ctars? I have been to members homes who have frag tanks. And if these people have the *alls to pull this off in a store what would stop them from doing it to a fellow member???

nope, you don't have the RIGHT to know. everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and unless the fish stores are prepared to press charges, they would seriously get a HUGE slander lawsuit against them.
people will steal as long as they get away with it unfortunately, and if neither of these two stores seem to care enough to stop the person from stealing, let alone pressing charges, then it will continue.
I'm not condoning it, but the stores need to do something, and bad mouthing someone in a public forum is a sure fire way to get a slander lawsuit. it sucks, but that's the way it is.

when i worked in petco people would steel flake fish food. we would find empty cans of the stuff all the time
When I was around 15 or 16 years old , my brother and I were in a pet store.
2 ladies were looking at the ferrets ,one of the ladies had a small shoe box and was stuffing ferrets into it
She saw my brother and I looking at her ,so her friend came over to us and gave us $20 to look the other way
We said thanks and Good Luck as we walk to the front of the store with $20 in pocket (( big score when your 15 or 16))
We told the man behind the counter what was going on
The man held the ladies there until the police showed up they both left in a police car

It's not slander when you "out" someone by an anonymous screen name.
I can see how that could happen with the new setup. I like being able to scope things out back there, but I could see how someone could easily lift something from a shallow tub. That's a shame. Now there will likely be no access to that area because of some jerk.

Sorry to hear it John..no worries, 3 more weeks and i will be back to post myself as a security guard...Hopefully it was not Pam (my wife...hehehe...)but if it was I hope she got something good...Hopefully the thief gets the message here and comes in to ask for forgiveness and fesses up to their wrong doings...

that really sucks!!! Im sorry to hear about it. I cant believe people would pull that c*** I love the trust I get at the local shops I go to on the reg. Heck most of the time they just say hi and let me wonder around without sending someone to follow me around like I see them do with almost everyone else who walks in the store. Its really just sad, but karma is a _____ hopefully this certain persons next thread starts with "i guess i had it coming"
