Here are the first pics my son and I took underwater in the keys.

The first set was about 5'. The rest were on a reef that is only 14' at the deepest, but the top is only 5' deep.

I was using my Canon powershot s-40.

I think we should try and make a day trip sometime.

The housing I got for the camera was pretty cheap on ebay. I wanted one for my Canon rebel digital. But I refused to spend $1000 for a housing. That was more than the camera!

There was a school of over 100 blue Tangs that I could not get a pic of. They were working their way down the reef.

I'd love to do a daytrip....I have a nice Olympus setup for taking underwater pics.

Looks like a nice little reef you found there. :D

Hey Jeff,

This reef is a SPA (sanctuary preserve area) It is about a mile off of Checca lodge in Islamorada, it is called Checca Rocks. Anybody with a boat can get to it, it has mooring bouys and everything. I won't be back down until middle Sept. Maybe we can get a group together. At least one other person would need a boat. I have mine down there now. I am sure we can go some other places as well.

You could snorkel it also, you don't need tanks. Even though it is neat to sit on the bottom and watch everything move around.

nice I`m in too ... matt I have a Canon powershot A95 were that I can find the cover for underwater pics ebay ????

Bret, you can easily snorkel on a reef in 14' of water (that's what I'd be doing too). Remember, that's just the bottom, the reef rises up from there.

cubano, definitely check ebay, that's where I've bought both of my underwater housings.
