uniseal modification

I have a bit of a tight fit building a scale model tank...

I'm using uni-seals and I can get it all to fit except for the full "mushroom" lip on the wet side. I can cut it flush to make it all fit. The lip is 3/8" and I need to cut it back to 1/8".

The way a uniseal works is by using the pipe going through it to create sideways pressure and constrict the rubber between the PVC and the hole. This still happens...

So I think it's work, but I though I'd ask if anyone else has done this?

the issues isn't with the pipe inside the uniseal. It's the "lip" on the inside that is overlapping with other structures.

I'm planning on cutting it back (visualize a rectangle flange instead of a round one) so it fits.

True. If it fails, I'll just silicone it silly...
