Uniseal Problems

I have 1 hole that I drilled in a 55 gallon drum that I cannot seem to keep from leaking. I have tried 3 different unseals on it so I don't think that is the problem. Does anyone have any tips on what to try to get a good seal?

Make sure the hole is smooth. If there are any jagged edges or if the drill bit left grooves then sand or file the hole to be sure it's nice and smooth. A little silicone grease on the uniseal goes a long way too.

I like to put the uniseal in boiling water for a minute then put it together with a smooth hole and silicone grease.

Yep I boil mine too because I am not allowed to use the hair dryer for fish projects.

I will take some sand paper to any burs I find tonight and get some silicone grease.

Got that leak stopped. Cleaned the hole with a dremmel tool and then wrapped some Teflon tape around the outside of the uni-seal to give it a little more girth. So far it is holding with 40 gallons of water behind it.
