Unknow coral

Hello again
It seems that every day owning a reef tank you find something new, well a couple weeks ago I found this coral that only comes out at night, it has me very confused during the day it hides in it's little cave, but if you turn the lights on at night you can see him, I wonder if it's a zoanthid? If anyone could is it I would appreciate it ImageUploadedByTapatalk1420387167.322341.jpg

It's definantly possible but I have done a little bit of research on them and I haven't see any that look quite like it, all of the nuisance anemones appear to have longer soft tentacles where as this ones are solid, I really have no idea with this one

If I had to guess, I would personally say a type on long tentacle zoanthid. My LFS had a few but none of them look exactly like that, so I could be completely wrong. Doesn't look like a nem to me though

These are similar to what I was talking about that sort of resemble your guy

Kinda looks like a ball anemone. Don't think its Aptaisia or Majano but kinda hard to tell from the pic.

If you decide to treat it like an aiptasia, get some kalk and mix it with tank water to form a paste. Use a turkey baster to blast him with it and if you feel the need, put thicker paster over his hole in the rock to make sure he is a goner. Whatever you do, don't try and rip him off the rock because you will end up with dozens/hundreds of happy babies. Good luck!

Its one of those things that some people have problems with and others don't. (Like Asterina Starfish.) I have left them alone and they go away after a while. Most don't move or spread fast, some are suspected of killing fish snails and other critters. I believe you could kill it with superglue or epoxy if you are so inclined. Kalk paste would also work. I think they are kinda cool. :bum:
