Unknown Hitchhiker?

Last night we noticed something new in our new reef setup. It would disappear when the light was on it. So i pulled out my D300 with SB900 and used the infared focus assist to capture it out of its hole. I am unfamiliar with this guy. it is about a 3/16 to 1/4 diameter and at one point about 2 1/2 inches long and it still was partially hidden

Any ideas.

Hay ,that is what i just pulled out of my tank last night.I don't know what it is eather but it was eat my sps.My was a little bigger then yours . when i got him out it was 3'6'' and a 1" round.All i now is you DON'T wan't it in your tank. Good luck with the id

That looks like a eunicid. You definately don't want it in your tank. Look it up on google and you will see how destructive they are.

that is an eunicid worm for sure. evil worms that can get huge in the tank. you should get that one out quick!

No doubt about it, a eunicid worm. A highly destructive worm that'll pork its way through your tank. It'll eat corals, inverts, etc. And it can grow several feet in length. Bad news!
