Unknown snail "output"?

Found this strange-looking formation on my glass this morning, and I know it wasn't there last night. My lawnmower blenny ate it shortly thereafter, but I'd still like to know what it is. I assume it came from one of my snails because they're the only things I have that get that high up on the glass. I have mostly cerith and nerite snails, if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

That's what I thought, but had never seen them before and didn't want to assume anything. Shame the blenny ate them, then.

For future reference, what's the typical gestation period for snail eggs? Just wondering how long I'd need to protect them if I wanted to let them hatch...

They would probably be hard to keep in a tank with fish, on the other hand they are good food for the fish.

They are cerith eggs, chances of them hatching are pretty slim anyway.
