unknown tang

just because it was caught in temperate waters doesn't necessarily mean it is a temperate species as it could very well just be a waif.
 
I believe this is the famed Polar Tang, which was first discovered by Admiral Nelson some time ago. They are rarely captured and never photographed due to their specially evolved cloaking devices.

if its the same as my fish it will be the kiing of the tank in no time very agro little bugger can put fish three times its size in their place and the more i feed it the more agro it got
 
For sure a Prionurus genus tang... there are only two species in Australia, and I agree with Tim that it is Prionurus microlepidotus...
