unsticking a BTA

i have my tank half ripped apart trying to get my anemone out, and he just isnt having it. is there a trick to unsticking his foot from the rock?

If your BTAs foot is in a crevice then its going to be tough to unnattach the foot without ripping it or causing some other serious injury. I would try aiming a powerhead at the anemone to see if it will let go. If that doesn't work, get a ice cube and press it lightly on the anemones column to see if it will let go then.

I have all the rock around him out of the tank, so its just his foot on a somewhat flat rock. I tried putting an ice cube there for about 3 minutes, and it just made his foot kind of tough to the touch. I am going to try aiming a powerhead at him for a little while.

If your BTA is on a flat rock then it might be possible to get your fingernail under its food and gently wedge the foot off.

Its not exactly smooth flat, but i did give that a shot. Hard without finger nails going past the tips of my fingers. Perhaps this will wait untill the girlfriend gets home from work.... oh yeah she will be thrilled with this idea... ha:lol:

Thanks for your help...

on a side note, i see you're into jeeping. I have had a few jeeps, a few years ago. Its an expensive hobby, and ending up having to sell them

Yes, I love Jeeps. Nothing like them when it comes to off-roading. Right now I have a 4x4 Liberty. It doesn't look like an off-roading vehicle but that thing can almost go anywhere where a Wrangler can. I love its turning radius too.
