Unusual Acan behaviour

Hi. Have been keeping my corals, mainly LPS, a couple of the easier Monti's, and a GSP colony, in a holding tank for the last six months. Transferred them to my newly cycled display on Sunday. Using same salt, same light unit, and made certain parameters were the same in both tank. I have six small Acan colonies amongst my collection which were until Sunday doing fine and exhibiting normal behaviour. Since being introduced to their new home, they are plumping up a lot more than they ever did, but when lights are off. When the lights come on they immediately begin to retract, and don't stop until they are tight into the skeleton. If I turn the lights off(not down)they revert to their plump state. Any theories? Thanks in advance for any replies. Cheers Paul.

could it be the placement of the acans? in your holding tank, they are on the bottom? but in your DT they are on live rocks, so they are higher than before? even using the same light fixture, but because of their new placement they are in the sun a lot closer than before? same model light fixture could also produce difference lumens because the age or quality of each bulb.

Thanks for the replies. The Acans are further from the light source in the display.
Bulbs were replaced just after Xmas.
No fish in the display yet.
