It is from Australia and I can't remember the name of it - any ideas?

Well, fortunately, the anemone has bunkered down and is happy. The flip side is what you see is what you get - no base iew :)

How big is it? Any shots of the mouth or oral disk? That's a very cool looking nem regardless good luck!

We can't give a positive ID on that pic. Color alone, I would say E. quadracolor, but color is a poor tool for ID.

Definitely not a quadracolor...

SNAKEMANVET - They look similar - in fact almost identical, but this is not a coldwater anemone and it does host clowns - at least for my buddy it did. He has had it for over a decade and it has been splitting for him. I will see if I can get a different pic of it.

It is about 4" - 5" across. I will try and get shots of the mouth tonight.

snakelocks do very well at 78 to 80 and reproduce quiet often.I have seen a pic here before a guy took,he started with one and now has several in his reef tank.

I had one once, it was beautiful, but I was afraid of the dreaded outbreak and got rid of it. A member of another forum who breeds clown fish, or used to, would use these to host baby clowns.

Nice! About a year ago I actually hunted down a reefer to get my hands on them lol. I love them. But then again, I love ALL randomly different anemones. Seems I can't get enough of nano sized nems. :D

Yea I was agreeing to "it looks like" not actually trying to ID it. Mine never get to 3 inches either.

I don't think it is a tulip as my buddy's was well over 8" when it was fully expanded. I have had those in the past - they spread like wildfire!
