Upcoming events and dates

Just an update on what to expect in the next few months.........

Thursday, October 12th.. - Gateway Aquatics

Chad will be having a "customer appreciation" sale on October 14th and 15th and will be ordering in LOTS of livestock for the sale. SLASH members will be getting the same discount that customers will be getting during the customer appreciation sale. Members will have the added advantage of being able to see and purchase the livestock before the sale begins. There will be some form of pizza night or other "food night" involved but plans are not firm at this time. More details to follow.


Thursday, October 26th. â€"œ Aquatic Treasures.

The evening will begin at Aquatic Treasures. Velko has moved so this will provide an opportunity for all to see his new store. After Aquatic Treasures we will drive up the street and meet at Fortels Pizza or possiblyy opt to have some Mexican food instead. More details to follow.


Thursday, November 9th. â€"œ Lost Marbles Tank Tour and Cook-off

So you think you make some mean chili or hot wings do you? Here’s your chance to prove it. We’ll be meeting at the home of Dave Weston ( a.k.a. Lost Marbles ) to take a look at his tank setup and to have the first annual SLASH chili and hot wing cook-off. Make your best chili or wings and bring them to Daves place. No prizes but winning will give you bragging rights for a whole year. More details to follow.

I am guessing turkey, stuffing, some pumpkin pies, family gatherings and preparing for the holiday season.

May not be such a good idea to have an event on Thanksgiving.

They are on Thursday for a few reasons.

First, Thursday night seems to be the better night for many members.

Second, it's closer to the weekend and with only 1 more day of work for the week many people feel more like having a "later" night than they would on Tuesday or Wednesday night.

And third, Steve is off on Thursdays and has a better chance of being able to attend the functions. He normally works until at least 8:00 and it would be hard for him to get to IL or O'Fallon at a time that would make the trip worthwhile.

Levon15, are you just curious as to why or are Thuirsday nights bad for you?

I dont have an issue a vcr or a tivo cant fix but the same night of the week everytime has to be excluding some people.

As soon as I can get the OK from Lost Marbles we'll be changing the chili and hotwing cookoff day to Wednesday. We'll just move it up by one day.

Unfortunatyely Mike. according to the survey that we took, Wednesdays and Thusrdays are the best for most people to attend our functions.

We want to get the best turnout for our functions so you can pretty much bet that they will be held on Wednesday or Thursday.

Not to be a thorn in anyone's side, but now that I'm at Mizzou Friday-Sunday works best for me. I'm willing to make the drive, but honestly it'd be better if it were a weekend. Could we possibly redo the day-of-the-week poll now that it's not summer?
