Very nice start! Can't wait to see the tank :)
Your stud being 16" apart, how did u fit the drill and hole saw saw between to cut out the holes for the wiring?

did you insulate the wall between the garage and the tank room?
Nice work!

Not yet I have the insulation and everything to seal up the outside but I wanted to get the tank in place and plumbed so I could get the water stabilizing. I am not too worried as in the summer we dont park in the garage and the temp in the room is staying at the temp in the living room. So hopefully next weekend I can get the insulation vapor barrier ( second there is already one on the inside) and outer drywall in place

Yeah i decided the the dnw 200 wasn't enough so I got a kick a$$ deal on a tdnw 300 12 inch chamber diameter and 3 resirc pumps cant beat that

it's a 210.

I hope there's insulation under that sump! (It looks like there is).
Is it going to be a challenge to keep this warm in winter?

After looking at the sump room picture how challenging is it going to be maintenance wise. Looks a little small in there but that could be because of the picture angle or maybe there is another way to access it?

after seeing a similar installation (Roberts) the big access problem is height.
Looky here

you'll need a boost to get up over that back edge. It's critical to have front access in such situations (and Jeff does).
Still- there's not much wiggle room between the back of the aquarium and those studs!

Yeah the room behind the sump is a little tight but to be honest I have been back there plumbing and its really not too bad (of course I would have liked to have another 12 inches but my wife said she needed to be able to open the car door in the winter go figure) but I definitely have one thing going for me and thats height the room is 11 foot tall. that does make things interesting to get into the tank but once things are going I plan on putting a small removable catwalk behind the tank for easy access and as gary said I also have 10 inches of access in the front.

as far as heat I dont really think its gonna be a issue as there is going to be a vent from the living room and I am going to put electric baseboard heat in as well.

for maint it should be fairly easy as I am going to have plumbing routed so all I need to do is change a lever to drain and change another to fill.
