Great picture Tucson Reef. Could you repost the pic. of your clam? It looks awesome but my eyes are killing me. Bigger? Tank is looking great.

Thank you. That Purple Rim is from TCN, years ago everybody was selling Leng Sy look alikes, that one never developed the Leng Sy texture. Today I fragged The Japanese Purple Rim again and took a big leaf to mount elsewhere, where it would show full view. This is the one Frank Burris brought to ZOAKEEPER's house Frag Auction, I could never get a full top view and the small chips I was fragging never showed texture, just beautiful colors. I had gotten a Leng Sy from Frank the first time he and Tyree came to Phoenix, but it was lost in a tank problem after a year. Well on the trip to ZOAKEEPER's house he advertised a Japanese Cap, I got it, and it has beautiful colors, but I never saw any texture. The piece I fragged today has the same colors and texture as the original LS I got the first time from Frank years ago. I can't post any pic's yet because they always shock and discolor after they are disturbed. It takes anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for them to recover the purple rim.

Thank you. A very small grey/emerald crab eating Fan Algae. By the way, I'll be starting a new thread for further updates, "Update II", to make it easier on Dial-Up people. That way they won't have to download all the pic's they have already seen. Trying to get this Forum going again like it used to be, a lot of the regular posters have moved or been assigned out of the area. A question thread by "adamsky27" if any SPS keepers were out there got me noticing that posts other then selling were threads were low here.
By the way; If you see any SPS your interested in, I plan on fragging and taking mounted/encrusted and unmounted frags to Rob's/Southwest SW, so he can make them available. I won't get into names of types since I have discovered that growth and light conditions affect appearance. I noticed one Tort sold under two names will look either way depending on conditions. Some of the Cap's I have were called something later determined to have died off the captivity. Now I think one has the potential to show the traits of the namesake, but it would be wrong to claim without the lineage, Its still a beautiful Cap.

Now that you told me it was an emerald crab, it jumps right out at me, Thanks

Anything you can do to improve this site would be GREAT!

I might be interested in a few :)

Announcement! I will retire in February and I have a lead on a job at Ft. Huachuca. Not getting too excited yet as we are keeping our options open on where we finally settle.

Hi Ed, That would be great, I retired 9-30-08, I love it. I still have a few of yours, you can have frags of anything you want. Its been boring since you left. Glad you took that assignment though, looks like you had a great time.

Yea, but yours is the big retirement. Glad you are enjoying it.

What frags of mine do you have? When time gets closer I am going to pose that same question to all the folks up in Pheonix. There are only a few of my old corals I would like to get back, the rest I put in my new tank will be really high end. Can you imagine a take like my old one with nothing but LE stock!!
