Its been a while so here are some new pics of the tank. I have since added an additional Tunze Wavebox to the system bring the total to three and put in several more corals since the last update. Forgive the picture quality, my camera doesn't take great tank photos.

triggerfish1976, you have a beautiful tank with beautiful fish, very, very nice.

It looks like it's a built-in wall setup, is that true? My dream tank is a built-in about half your size (around 245 or so). My goal is to be ready in about two to three years. I might have to visit sometime if I may, need to see what you did to be so successful (Besides your obvious love of reef life).

Very Very Nice - Congratulations!

Reefartist,

You're more than welcome to stop by anytime.:)
As for the tank, you are correct it is built into the wall. I converted a sun room that we never used into the tank room. The room had a thick concrete footer that was perfect. The room was not overly big so I ran my plumbing outside to a shed on the side of the house and I put the sump, skimmer, chiller and top off resevoir outside.
Here are a few more pics of the tank, external overflow and lights.

Oh triggerfish1976 I definitely have to stop by. The overflow box is just what I was wanting to do. I have the whole side of my garage to play with so it would be very similar to yours. I wanted to have my skimmer, CA reactors etc in a separate area beside the tank - don't want to have to crawl around under the tank for anything on a regular basis. That lighting system is great! What kind of light canopies are those?

I love the goby - what a great burrow!

They are called Lumenmax reflectors. John at FAOIS got them in for me. I can light up the entire tank with just three 400 watt metal halides and a few T-5's.
The overflow box is great because it allows for me to use 100% of the tank for aquascaping. I had internal overflows in my previous tank and they just took up to much room. I am also running Tunze Waveboxes and the overflow design really maximizes the wave frequency.

OMG that is beautiful this might have to be something i have to seee in person im in st pete aslo.
love the sohol. im up on 54th ave N are ya anywhere close ?

great looking tank you myst be very proud
i know i would be .
D

The total aquascaping is the reason I'm looking at the overflow box. I also figured it would be an easy way to keep the overflow area clean or at least cleaner. With my overflow now, being in the tank and very deep I really can't get to it. I have a corner on my 75 and I can at least see what's going on, but on my 65 it's moved over about 4 to 6 inches - can't see anything and it's hard to get to without taking my canopy completely off - not fun. Do you think the Tunze Waveboxes is worth the $? And those Lumenmax reflectors are now on my list :D.

Tunze Waveboxes are worth the money. I am running three on my tank and the corals love it. It is something that you would have to see to really appreciate. My Bangai Cardinal acutally sits in the water column and bobs up and down with the current.

Is it the blue and yellow fish? If so it is a Starkii Damsel. He is actually fairly mellow for a damsel and doesn't bother anyone. My Ruby Fairy Wrasse is poking his head into the left side of the pic.

So that's a Ruby Fairy in the pic right about - very pretty. He looks big, what size is yours? I LOVE Wrasses and if I could I think I'd have a tank full of Wrasses and Gobies :D - but yes I know better.

that is the one, the blue is awesome on it.
Beautiful collection of fish you have as well. I would love to have room for a tank that size.
Stacie

Do you still have the crosshatch triggers? Hopefully my next tank will be big enough so I can get a pair.

I actually got rid of the Crosshathes when I torn down the old tank and setup this one. They were way to big and messy for a reef tank but they were beautiful fish.

Reefartist,

The Ruby was a supermale when I got him but his colors have faded a bit since he doesn't have a female to court. They are one of the better colored Fairy's IMOP when they get the Terminal male colors.
