Updated Pictures of 450Gal Reef!

Justin-- that's great news, you need to frequent this forum more often and I am looking at having a frag meeting in Jan

Oscar, I have three 400 watt metal halides in lumenbright reflectors and newly added 8x54 t5s.

nice! I've got the exact same size set-up with the same skimmer....did you use some type of foam?? We should start a 450g thread! I bet we've had a lot of the same ideas/challenges! I went with 4 x 250 watt SE halides in LB reflectors...with VHO lighting. My tank seems a lot brighter than yours...wonder why!? LMK if it'd be alright to post a few pics of mine!!
Thanks for sharing!

yeah pike go ahead a post some pics... What kelvin rating are your bulbs? And I am only running 3X400 watts with no supplementation in those pics. And yes I used what is called Handi Foam to do the background.

What color T-5's? DIY kit or pre built? You'll be happy to know I've decided to give up on caring for over 800 gallons of water everyday and am going to go to a 300 rimless, all T-5's. As I have had fantastic success with T-5's. Gotten any frags from Virginia lately?:dance::dance:

David, thats awesome! The Rimless tanks look so nice. I have 4X48" 2X54 watt t5's Coralvue Retrofit fixtures. They also have 4 each moonlights in each fixture. T5's do have a lot of different color combinations for them, but I am using them strictly for supplementation. So I will be putting in 420 and 460 bulbs

thanks. I am trying to get on here more. I am no where near ready to start talking frags, but I would be interested in hearing about the swap. I may still come to meet new reefers. My build is coming along nicely though. I have the stand nearly done and ready to move into place. I am just waiting on some LED's that are coming in the mail. I will PM you the link to my build.

Hitman, you are in luck. Here are those updates. . .

The acan and the RBTA are my favorites.

Dan, you and Jill have a nice home and the reef tank is phenomenal. Very nice job.
Cheers

Thanks for posting these Scott. The pictures look great but they still don't give the tank justice. Amazing tank Dan, and thanks for hosting the frag swap!
