upgrading 6000s to 6100s

I have two 6000s in my tank but I would like more flow. How to I go about upgrading them to 6100s?

You just need part 7410.602 transformer.

Is switching the transformer pretty simple?

It is just the hockey puck that plugs ito the wall and the driver, you just unplug it and plug in the new one.

Great! So if I am undecided between 4 6000's and 4 6100's on a multi would you suggest I try the 6000's and upgrade if needed since the price point is almost the same?

Exactly. Except I would start with 2 pumps- how big is this tank?

It is 48" x 48" x 30" 300 gallon cube.

Well, I would agree with 4 pumps in that case.

6000's: the price of a 6000 + the transformer is the same as a 6100, so might as well start with the lower powered ones. you likely wont' need the increased flow right away anway. as things grow you can get the transformers.

It's nice to have options! This feature should be marketed more IMO.
