Urbanek's 250

Love the photography. Corals looks super healthy.

Sahin - thanks for the kind words on both the coral and photography. BTW - I'm still on the lookout for the perfect lighting combo with the Powermodule.

I think the Blue Chalice is beautiful. Why do you regret adding it?

Vitodog - don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful coral. It just grows really fast and stings like a bee. They should rename is to the Mohammad Ali. It's by far the most shreds ice coral I have.

I found your thread through a mention by Matt(Reefmutt) and I'm glad I did! I really love builds like yours where there was a lot of thought put into the overall presentation of the tank, the cabinet, the light, etc. Your attention to detail is to be commended and I love the barn wood. You did a fantastic job with that as a first wood project! I have built quite a few pieces of furniture from many different exotic woods over the years but I can say that I didn't start with anything nearly as complicated as yours as my first project.

You are getting great results in your SPS corals, the amount of growth, color, and the size of the colonies is very impressive. I would love to read and see any details on your tank keeping practices, I think everyone can benefit from the info you provide, so please let us know as much as you can pass along!

But more importantly, now I have something to look forward to to read on a regular basis. Your detailed write ups are always a joy to study with a hot cup of coffee on a Saturday morning. Good luck with this project!

markalot - Thanks! It's hard to compare to the two photos since there is so much extra light coming from the windows in the 2nd pic. Here is the new bulb combo. All are Giesemann Bulbs

Aqua Blue Azure

Tropic

Super Actinic

Super Purple

Actinic Blue

Aqua Blue Azure

Super Actinic

Aqua Blue Azure

I hesitated putting the Actinic Blue in my scheme but that bulb is very much like an ATI B+ or KZ Superblue

Are you still running this bulb combo? What are your LED settings and overall durations of everything?

Your tank is really an inspiration!

deaclauderdale - First of all, thanks for continuing to check in on the progress of the reef. It means a great deal to get the encouragement of the folks here on RC. I'm glad that my tank can offer a bit of inspiration. For me that is what the forums are all about.

Gotta say probably one of the the best I've yet to see.. thanks for sharing it with the rest of us

stevenmiller27 - Is this the Steve Miller? :) I'm sure you get that a lot. I gotta say, I love your comment. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment on the tank.

mhucasey - Appreciate the thoughtful and insightful comment. I too love the texture and look of the barnwood. It's awesome to know that my aquarium cabinet was once in an old barn and could have easily been scrapped.

As for my tank keeping practices, I will do a journal entry in the next day or so detailing out my maintenance routine. If you are not familiar with a site called aquaticlog.com I recommend you give it try. You can also do a search for Urbaneks on the site and see exactly what I do on a daily, weekly, month, etc, etc basis.

Thank you for sharing

zcfihu - I'm guessing you are referring to my Project 365 over on the other forum. Thanks for following along on my journey both here and on the the Project 365.

ClownsRCoo - I am still running the bulb combo that your referenced. That is a new bulb combo for me as of about 4 weeks ago. As for the T5 selection, it is a bit too white for me when all of the bulbs are on. I'm considering replacing the 6500 daylight bulb for an older blue + I have laying around. With that said, the corals are responding well it's just not pleasing to my eyes. On the LEDs, I'm running the royal blue and blue at 100% when the T5's are on. When the T5s go the white runs at 40%. If you have the Powermodule, feel free to PM me your email and I can send you my light profile.

I want you to make me a stand!..... Seriously!

spscrackhead - we can arrange it. I've built a couple stands for local reefers since I built this one. I'm actually in the process of building a very similar cabinet right now for another local guy. If you get to the point where you want to go that route, feel free to PM me here on Reef Central and we can set itup.

Love the Oregon Tort! Where do you have it in the tank? What sort of flow and lighting is it getting? I will get an OT frag someday....

Great pictures! By any chance do you have any top down shots of the JF Red Tort? I did not know there was such a thing...
