URGENT what's wrong with my lipstick

Hi. Had my lipstick about a month now. Been absolutely fine and happy. Eating loads and no signs of problem. This morning and all today however he has been staying in one of three different spots barely moving. Sometimes he'll have an energy spurt and start moving his fins and looks like he's getting better but then goes quiet again.

He has developed some strange colouring on his body, I thought it was scrapes from where he buries himself into the rock at night but I'm not so sure now. He's eyes look creamy and I'm worried. Any ideas?

I did have a sea apple which I have literally just got rid of just in case and thought it might be that but my other fish are absolutely fine.

Tank parameters are all within range however nitrates a little high at 20 but started NO3PO4X again two days ago. Could it be that?

I also stared dosing Red Sea powder mix solution for Alk, Mg and Cantwo days ago.

Sorry you felt the need to do that. Odd you assume the people that viewed this knew what to do. Would you have preferred 49 posts of "I have no idea could you take a more clear picture?"

She was definitely going to do I think. Looked like crabs had already started to eat her fins and when she burst away from then she just flopped on the flow and blew all over the place. Poor thing.

I know and was just a little upset that no one had replied yet. I know people in he know might not have seen it yet, was just disappointed. Despite that, it's ironic that if a post is not the best, there are normally replies almost instantly queuing up to tell someone how they're doing something wrong and belittling them. #knowfromexperience.

next time you need to QT or TTM. I used to do the same thing but learned my lesson. It took 2 different times and I lost all my all my fish and had to start over. Never trust the shop you buy from. Human error happens all the time.

what size tank was it in and what are the tank mates?
cloudy eyes is usually a symptom of flukes or bacterial infection.
I dont have a lot of personal experience with naso tangs but from what I have read they tend to have a low survival rate due to poor collection methods used to catch them and the use of cyanide depending where they are from.

Yeah someone else mentioned flukes.

Where as I would love to be able to QT like that, I can't see myself buying a fish and then not being able to see it (in its full glory) for 6 weeks.

It's a 100g 5 foot long. No other if players in there and he weren't that big. That's what gets me is he has been perfectly fine for a month. Eating fine. Playing fine. Even eating out of my hand. Then over a couple of days deteriorated.

He looks a bit skinny. That was a couple of weeks ago. He fattened up a bit after that and that skinny line went.

Flukes are silent killers. They attach to fish gills eventual eat away their gills causing them breathing issues.

If your not willing to QT then you might have alot of problems. You could get lucky but it will catch up to you sooner or later.
Also your tank is way to small for a Naso tang.

Is there any practical alternative to QT for a month and a half? Like freshwater dipping and QT for a week? Or something similar? I'm guessing people have come up with different methods over time just wondered what other options there were.

Yes a couple of people have said that on here before, however I have also been told by many that for the size it was, it's perfectly fine. Not everyone has room for a 1000g tank and still keep them for years. My friend has had one in a 100 for 10 years and is perfectly happy.
