ive come to a tough pickle with not a lot of options. ive already lost 2 fish in a week to who knows what, 2 of my chromis arent looking that good, and my yellow tang has ich bad and i think he now has HLLE and im not sure how hes going to fair. he keeps like twitching almost.

ive come to 2 main decisions. i can either move all 6 fish to 29g QT (that isnt up yet) and treat with copper for 6 weeks and try to figure out my tank OR i can move all 6 fish to QT and treat with copper (or i can donate to someones healthy tank [2 of them are prized fish] in hopes of getting back in the future) and completely restart my tank BECUASE i have like 50 1" aiptasia and a bagillion micro ones so i can cook all my rock to get rid of them and my tank doesnt feel healthy/right to me. i dont want to do plan B but that seems like the smartest way but i have no idea where to start im so overwhelmed. can people help me? what are your thoughts?

the tank is a 75g FOWLR(with lots of aiptasia).

If you can get them to a person that has an established tank they can treat them in that would be your best option. Setting up a brand new tank is going to be a challenge because you have to worry about a cycle killing your fish in addition to the copper treatment. If the fish are still eating in your main tank I would probably wait it out and hope they fight it off. I would then setup a QT and make sure it is completely cycled before I move the fish over. Then leave the treatment tank setup to QT all your new fish.

ill watch closely when i feed today but i noticed the nori i put in yesterday wasnt touched when i went to bed and if its still here when the light turns on i know something is up. i havent feed nori in 3ish days (i forgot) and normally the yellow will devourer it.

i guess that sounds logical that sounds the best to me. thanks

Hmm you dont' want to move sick fish to someone else's established tank and infect their fish-forgive me if I'm missunderstanding what you want to do. It sounds like the fish are end stage in sickness and a move would be to tramatic and will probably kill them. If you have no inverts or coral just live rock then I would treat in the tank. I wouldn't use copper though as it will bind into the rock and you won't be able to ever put inverts in the tank at least not for a long time. Some fish are also very sensitive to copper. I would use Malachite Green as it is effective and works quickly. It most likely will also kill the Aptasia as well.

Hmm.....If you can move sick fish to an established TREATMENT tank that is better then moving them to a newly setup tank.....

jon- i ment to say after they are healthy and if i restart the tank. i was really tired when i typed this so its not perfect. i have a flippin awesome cleaner shrimp that has molted about 10 times in 8-9 months so im not going to treat the whole DT with copper. ill look up malachite green, ive heard of it but i need to do research. it be nice if it kills of the aiptasia but if it means i cant put corals or inverts in this tank again ill pass.

also i have a freind who has 2 QT tanks up 24/7, maybe he could help me lol.

RBU1- one this that would make your earlier reply better, a fix for the aiptasia lol

think a bristletail filefish pair would help with the aiptasia? ive heard great success stories and thats one of the best options i have even if its hit or miss. it would be better than restarting the tank becuase i had to cook the rock to get rid of the aiptasia.
