Uronema marinum - HELP

That should be enough if they are not actually infected or sick.

It's been 6 days since I lost the 2nd chromis, these 3 have never shown any signs still.

I need to pick up some formalin. I luckily have a second tank that I can set up while I clean this one out. How many days should I wait between formalin bath/transfer? the normal 72 hours?

Well, if you already do tank transfers for the formalin baths you may as well do the full TTM routine to eliminate ich and do a total of 4 baths and transfers.
Otherwise I would just give the fish a day or two recovery time before the next bath. Uronema has no lifecycle like ich where timing matters - it just reproduces by division on its food source. That is also why it can progress so fast and at the same time not necessarily affect other fish.
The formalin baths are really just to make sure no uronema hitches a ride into the DT.

I had another thought, if the entire purpose of the formalin is just to make sure none of the uronema follows the fish, wouldn't several fresh water dips be just as effective as I don't see it surviving in the fresh water?

ThRoewer,
if I understand correctly it is best to do the formalin bath at the end of each TTM??
that would mean to dose formalin in the actual tank were you are doing the TTM one hour hour before each transfer. is this correct??

what concentration of formalin do you suggest?

I thought formalin was harsh in fish? what are the possible side effects or cons that can occur in a fish after the formalin bath.

do you need a lower formalin concentration in the tanks during all the period or just at the end of each TTM??

thanks

Any have any thoughts on this? I am thinking of doing this sometime this weekend if it seems like it would work.
