use for tap water purification

I am thinking of putting in a tap water filtration unit...not sure what to do ...what would be my best options, of course cost being a constraint

have a 55gal, with T-5 and CSS-65 skimmer...

Get an RO/DI unit. Can't be beat for about 150 bucks. Plan for it now, and you won't regret it later.
