Use hypo with cupramine?

I've had my trigger in a QT, under hypo, for 3 weeks. Last night I noticed new ich spots, so I decided to use cupramine. Question - should I continue hypo for the next month while I'm doing copper or slowly bring the water back up to normal since I assume I've failed hypo? Thanks.

Thanks. I saw that but it didn't really answer the question to my satisfaction. It is said that if you're not all the way down to 1.009 than hypo is not beneficial. 1.017 seems inappropriate. It would make sense to either stay at 1.009 or to go up to 1.025.

So I would still like some input from the more experienced reefers.

By the way, I went to school at SUNY-Binghamton years ago and had great times in Vestal!

I forgot where I read this but it said that cupramine is ineffective in hypo and its harmful to the fish, But I am not exactly sure. Try soaking the trigger food in some garlic that might help. Thats what I do.
