Not my tanks but a lfs is selling off his oceanic display tanks. They are used tanks.. He has a bunch of 50 and 75's.. He sent me this email the other day...

do you know what these tanks were used for? was it for fish, and if so, was there any medications/chemicals/copper used (ie- are they reef-safe..)?

Will the silicone in a tank hold trace amounts of copper still? My current tank was a quarantine tank for years and spent probably 8+ years as a display tank at a lfs for freshwater fish..

The glass wouldn't absorb chemicals would it? I know some driftwood and substrates like aquasoil, ecocomplete and flourite all will hold copper.. Will the tank itself be unsuitable for marine or reef life?
