I was looking at Sanjays light rating system and I heard that the Ushio 14k is the same bulb as the BLV 14k, is that true? If so is it the same par rating as the BLV.

The Double-Ended (DE) BLV (10,000, 14,000 and 20,000K) Nepturion lamps are the same as the DE Ushio (10,000K, 14,000K and 20,000K) Aqualite lamps. They are just labeled different for different markets.

The Single-Ended (SE) Ushio Aqualite lamps are currently available in 2 different models in some wattages (400 and 1000 Watt). The CWA models are designed for use with standard North American CWA (Constant Wattage Autotransformer) ballasts. The non CWA models (lamps without CWA in the lamp description code) are the same as the SE BLV Nepturion lamps which are designed for use with European (HQI type) ballasts.

I would be using them on a pfo 400 watt ballast. So what would your review overall on the 400 watt 14k Ushio, like color and growth wise.
