Using Chemiclean?

going to try and use this to clear cyano.. The directions say use one level scoop per 10 gallons of water. I have a 50 gallons of water roughly. I wonder if I should start with less first like only use 2 scoops 20 gallons of water and see..

Suggestions? experiences? I don't have airstone but someone said use your skimmer with cap off and will increase air.

It works (first few times) ....follow the directions for dosage...take cup off skimmer and just let it run/overflow..
Turn lights off for 2-3 days about 4 days after dosage...

In general, cyano is a seasonal plague, usually appearing when a stray sunbeam hits the tank at some hour of the day, and can be dealt with simply by turning your lights off for 3 days and closing the room curtains... and doing this once a month until the skimmer uptakes the dieoff and cleans it out.IF your skimmer is up to the job. Chemiclean generally works, but can have consequences for some inverts, particularly the pods. Most every tank has some cyano. It's usually there, but not seen, then blooms wildy in the presence of a stray sunbeam. It also shows up for a while in many new tanks.
