Using qt as dt

So no way I can run a bare bottom tank without any live rock or sand. Only fish. With a protein skimmer and a big filter with refugium. Basically a really big qt tank as my display tank. Then once ick shows up I can dose it accordingly whenever I wan too. Please tell me a way I can do this if I can the way I'm thinking. I can't go another 2-3 months of looking at nothing but water. How do I make this work??
Worried about the biological media and filter, ammonia nitrite and nitrate etc

I can not look at a fish less tank for another 2 months. I was told I need to do 12 weeks now...I just want to take all rock and sand out, qt new fish, put them in the fo tank without any sand or rock. Just filter and skimmer. Any way possible I can do this please help me

I am kind of lost.

Basically you got ich and you want to know how to circumvent the 12 week fallow period? If So then I do not know how to do that other than do not treat the fish and live with the ich.

Patience is a reefers best friend. Nothing good in reef keeping happens fast.

Two above quotes hold true 99% of the time.

Fallow period is 72 days.

I think the OP is asking if he can remove the rock and sand and make his DT a QT and dose (or fallow). Sure :). Just pull everything out and let it fallow (my recommendation).

you posted a thread about this same topic couple of days ago. You where told from experienced hobbists that they do not recommend this. Once you dose copper it's in your tank for good. it get absorb by the silcone or filters and whatever else you have in there and will release it back into your tank giving you inaccurate readings and will kill your bacteria that you need. also copper should be treated no more than 21 days in my opinion. Doing this will definitely put more stress on your fish, and cause more infections and diseases, which you will be facing a uphill battle. Don't take this the wrong way, but if you cannot have patience in this hobby, maybe it's not for you.
